Knowtify Privacy Policy
Introduction

The Knowtify platform (aka “Knowtify App”, “Knowtify Web Portal”, “Knowtify Website”) is designed, built and provided to you by Allied Vision Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (aka “We”, “Our”, “Us”), a company registered in India under the Companies Act, 1956. We are building a futuristic online platform for you to “receive authentic information from authorised sources”. The platform also facilitates you to send authentic information to your own staff/users provided you register your organisation (aka Proprietary Firm/LLC/Private Business/Public Business/NGO/Trust/Local Governing Body and Housing Society) and get it verified via standard verification process (aka “KYC”, “CKYC”). For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, ‘you’ refers to the ‘user’ of our services.

The Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use while adhering to privacy, safety and security of your data including information being consumed or published by you. The privacy policy also forms the part and basis of our Terms of Service Agreement (available at
Terms of Service) that describes terms to use our services.

Data privacy, safety and integrity principles

The Knowtify platform follows fundamental principles as below when we collect and use your data.

  • Never show any advertisements
  • Do not share any of the collected information to other users or businesses. Thus no user data and published information is made public.
  • For information consumers- store only the bare minimum data of information consumers which is used to publish authentic information to them.
  • For information publishers- store only the bare minimum data of information publisher which is used to verify and authorise them and their businesses to publish authentic and correct information
  • We do not provide services to forward/copy/screen capture of information via Knowtify app thereby restricting recipients to send garbage and spam to other users. In fact, Knowtify is a unidirectional channel (publisher to receiver and not receiver to other receiver) to send important information. Thus sanctity and veracity of the information is always preserved.
  • Prohibit dilution of information by not allowing any follow ups/comments on the received information by any user.
  • Any information getting published has to go through one round of review and moderation by authorised publisher before getting sent to the end user
  • All sources of information (publishers) are verified via standard verification process.
What information we collect from you

Knowtify is an authentic information communication platform. We collect and use the following basic information for information consumers and publishers. The type of information ‘we collect’ as well as ‘you provide to us’ depends on what services you want to use.

  • As a consumer of information: We collect the mobile number to create a user account and authenticate the user. We also obtain device ID to uniquely identify the recipient and send the information to the intended recipient only. In order to avail ‘KnowtifyOne’ service, users can provide additional data to create a profile such as name, gender, birth year, email and pin code along with the profile picture (optional). This additional data will facilitate the receiving of authentic and contextual information on ‘KnowtifyOne’ as well as facilitate users to avail other services such as creating their own information boards and publishing information on them. The additional data is never made public or visible to other users on the Knowtify platform.

    In order to make our services better and enhance user experience, we obtain network connectivity information, analytics information (such device crashlytics) and user behaviour (such as interaction of users on various screens and usage of features). The platform does not ask for blanket permission to use camera and device storage. Example- when a user wants to provide a profile picture then only the platform asks for camera permission.

    We need you to agree on Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to use our services.

  • As a publisher of information: Our mission is to help everyone get the right information securely, freely and easily from intended and authorised sources only. This will make every information meaningful and relevant to the user. To accomplish this mission, we collect mandatory data to create your business account and verify you using a standard process so you become eligible to send information on your exclusive boards. The mandatory data includes PAN (Permanent Account Number), business logo for exclusive branding, business documents (such as incorporation certificate/shop act/registration or affiliation number). The information consumer must know the sources of received information on the exclusive information board as well as to process the account creation request, hence, we also obtain business name, brief about the business, board name, business address (address, pin, area), contact person name, email, designation and mobile number. We obtain email and the mobile number to verify them and complete the account creation process.

    We expect you to confirm that information provided by you is correct and true and need to agree on Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to use our services.

How do we process and use the collected information

  • Services: Knowtify services are cloud based. All data is getting processed primarily to deliver information over mobile devices. Other services such as creating information boards, authenticating businesses, publishing information, etc. are executed on mobile as well as client browsers. Data storage, data backups are part of cloud services.

  • Safety, security and integrity: To improve the security of your account, as well as to prevent spam, abuse, and other violations of Terms of Service, we may collect data such as your IP address, devices, etc. If collected, this data can be kept for moderation, analysis and actions to prevent abuse. For information consumers- we store only the bare minimum data of information consumers which is used to publish authentic information to them.

    For information publishers- we store only the bare minimum data of information publishers which is used to verify and authorise them and their businesses to publish authentic and correct information. We prohibit dilution of information by not allowing any follow ups/comments on the received information by any user. Any information getting published has to go through one round of review and moderation by an authorised publisher before getting sent to the end user. This shall maintain the integrity of information sent to recipients.

  • Garbage, spams and abusive information: We do not provide services to forward/copy/screen capture of information via Knowtify app thereby restricting recipients to send garbage and spam to other users. In fact, Knowtify is a unidirectional channel (publisher to receiver and not receiver to other receiver) to send important information. Thus sanctity and veracity of the information is always preserved. We are monitoring information abuse especially from publishers although they are authorised using standard verification processes. Any abuse or repeated spamming by publishers are noticed, such accounts shall be deactivated and eventually deleted from the system.

  • No advertisements: We Never show any advertisements. We do not share any of the collected information to other users or businesses. Thus neither user data and published information is made public nor any ads or promotions are encouraged and allowed.

Do we share your information?

As a Consumer of Information, we DO NOT share your information publicly or to other recipients.

As a publisher of Information, we make sure that information consumers/recipients are aware and assured of the source of the information they are receiving. Thus they are shown the business name, brief information about your business/publisher, logo, who published the information for them and on what date/time.

We may share your information with law and enforcement agencies as per local regulations or in response to legal requests.

How do we protect and keep your data safe

  • End to End encrypted data: The information messages, profile picture, business information (logo, PAN, address, mobile number, email address, pictures of PAN) are encrypted using standard encryption technologies. The data is processed only on the device of the recipient or at client browser. Knowtify servers do not maintain or store any data related to payment processing.

  • Storing and retention of data: The data shall be stored and retained in the datacenters of India using cloud infrastructure. This data shall not be shared with cloud service providers. The data that you provide us will only be stored for as long as it is necessary for us to fulfill legal/law enforcement obligations in respect of the provision of the services.

How you can manage (view, update, and delete) information

As an Information consumer you can view and update your profile information, rectify the same. You can also deactivate your account by uninstalling the Knowtify app as well as unsubscribing the public information board to stop receiving information. In order to unsubscribe the private board, you need to request your administrator of the private information board and then they will decide to delete you from the private information board. In order to delete your account permanently, you need to make a request to knowtify administrator and they will make sure to delete you from the system.

As a publisher or information and Knowtify business users, you can update your organisation details such as logo and brief about the organisation. Other details can not be modified as it is used to verify the business organisation. In order to rectify the other details or delete you from the platform, you need to make a request to Knowtify administrator and they will make sure to rectify your information or delete you from the system. We do not delete the information you published to your recipients. Neither will we delete the recipients associated with you as they may be associated with other businesses too. For legal needs, we may need to retain business name, information board name, address, business representative details.

Third party interaction for value added services

We work with third party service providers mainly to help us in payments for businesses/publishers associated with us, support us to enhance/optimise services to make them better for you, support in infrastructure, deployment of services and engineering activities, security support, conduct analysis/research and surveys for us, help us in obtaining report for diagnostic and fixing issues/services (such as playstore and appstore)

Updates related to Privacy policy

We shall update Privacy Policy as and when we introduce new value added features or collect any more data from consumers or publishers of information. However, we shall maintain old archives of Privacy Policy as well as diligently inform our users about such updates.

How to delete your account

To delete your user data from Knowtify and remove yourself from all public and private boards, please follow these steps:

To delete your account:
  • Open the Knowtify App on your device.
  • Tap on the "Settings" option in the app menu.
  • Look for and select the "Delete My Account" option.
  • You will be prompted to confirm the mobile number associated with the account.
  • Enter your mobile number accurately.
  • After verifying the mobile number, submit the request to delete your user data.
Important Information:

Please note that the deletion process may take up to 90 days from the beginning of the process to completely remove your Knowtify information. While we strive to delete all your data, we may retain certain log data in our databases. However, this data will be disassociated from any identifying information, ensuring it can no longer be linked to your account.

In certain circumstances, we may also retain some of your information for reasons such as legal issues, violations of our terms, or efforts to prevent harm.

If you delete your account:

By following these steps and submitting a request to delete your user data, you will ensure the removal of your personal information from Knowtify, including your presence on public and private boards.
